Print settings

Print settings control how a finished photo reaches paper. The core idea is the print option.

You can create several print options. A print option is a saved set of settings for a chosen printer that you customize — so one physical printer can print in different ways.

Example — one printer, two options:

  1. Create an option, pick your printer (for example a DNP), open its settings, set the paper size to 10×15, and save. This option prints a normal 10×15 photo.
  2. Create a second option, pick the same printer, set 10×15 but configure it to cut in half so it produces two photo strips, and save.

Now you have two options. Assign each option to a project. For example, one project uses a photo template for a normal 10×15 photo, and another project uses a template designed for photo strips — the same printer serves both, each with its own settings.

Scale and margins

You can adjust the print scale, the image size, and the margins on the paper to make the print come out exactly right.

Why this matters: some printers print the image slightly smaller or larger than expected. That means either part of your content doesn’t fit the print area, or a white strip appears at an edge. Tune the size and margins to remove both.

Use the Print test to check an option before the event: pick a file you want to print, and MixUp sends it to the printer with that option’s settings. Adjust scale/margins and test again until the print looks right.

A separate Paper counter button lets you track how much paper each printer has left.

  1. Press Paper counter, pick a printer from the list, and click the plus (+) — it appears in the list of monitored printers.
  2. Open the printer’s native options to see its remaining paper, and type that number into the paper quantity field.
  3. To warn you in the booth when paper runs low, tick Show warning and set a threshold — the remaining count at which the warning appears. The default is 50 prints.

You can add and remove monitored printers at any time.
